A Letter from the PST Lake Association President:

The new PST leadership welcomes you to the updated PST Lake Association website. This website will be a dynamic site, with information uploaded on a regular basis. Please access it and share with us other topics you would like to see on it.

2024 was a memorable year for all of us in the PST community. Activities including the summer launch party at the Lodge, an enjoyable poker run, fireworks on July 3rd, ladies’ day, scavenger hunt, children fun day, kids fishing contest, end of summer party at the sandbar and our December silent auction/comedy show at the Fireplace.

2024 also included efforts to improve the quality of our watershed, improve/initiate conversations with governmental entities (Fenton Township, EAGLE, Genessee County Drain Commission, DNR, The Federal Interior Department and even the US House of Representatives. E Coli testing was first performed on 4 locations in our watershed (Little Squaw, Sandbar, Tupper Lake and the north island in Lake Ponemah. Those areas were selected due to the congregation of swimmers and anchored boats. This testing will continue in 2025.

Coordination with the PST lake biologist was a critical responsibility and information learned was shared with members through social media. Our biologist has GPS mapped our lakes to enhance and target invasive weeds and other concerns. One lesson learned, in 2024, was the advantage of initiating our weed treatment program in early May, to address the curly leaf pondweed problem before it becomes a navigational hazard. The only requirement is that the lakes need to be at a minimum of 60 degrees to be effective. More focus and more residents will be involved in promoting the wise use of our lakes in 2025.

I want to take this opportunity to thank the former PST leadership. Jason Warda President, Dom Corso Vice President, Alicia Warda Treasurer and Keri Kostich Secretary. All of them worked tirelessly for all of us in the PST community. These positions and the positions of Trustees are all volunteer roles, expending countless hours to enhance our community and hopefully bring our entire community closer together. When you see any of them in the future, please take the time to thank them for all they have done.

2025 will bring exciting new changes to the PST community and organization. Structural changes, within PST, are currently underway including organizational, technological, cultural and activities. There is significant work being performed in the background that everyone will notice in 2025. The specifics of what has been done over the last six months will be addressed in the future.

In closing, if you have specific issues or concerns, please reach out to any of our officers or trustees. We all share a common goal to make PST the best lake association in Southeast Michigan. With your talents and assistance, that goal can be achieved.

Mark
